Design: 2nd Ave Dental
View on Github

Project Overview: Second Ave Dental is a design case study that uses Gestalt concepts, colour theory, and design heuristics to successfully create the frontend of a website for a mock dental client.
Objectives
- Wireframe design concepts iteratively to determine layout, components, and information architecture.
- From the best of the wireframes, create high fidelity prototypes with colours that embody the client’s characteristics.
- Implement the prototypes, using Javascript where necessary to create a more immersive user experience.

Features
- Easy to navigate:
- The navigation avoids deep hierarchies and long pathways so that the user can easily explore the site, allowing freedom and control.
- Calming and professional colours:
- Colours were carefully chosen to exemplify the client’s desire to showcase their clean, modern, and inviting clinic.
- Soft white, shades of sky blue, and muted coral are used to create an accessible and complementary colour pallette.
- Usability and minimalist design:
- Iconography was carefully chosen and labelled to accomodate users with ranging eyesight and reading abilities.
- Clear defaults were used within forms to help prevent user input error.
- No more information than needed is present on each page to prevent cognitive overload of the user.
Technology Stack
- Frontend: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Wireframes: Balsamiq.
