Game: OSHA Not Included

Project Overview
OSHA Not Included is a single-screen psychological horror game that juxtaposes a cozy visual design with a harrowing environment. The game uses the true-to-life anxieties of burn out, desire, and micromanagement to make this confined space feel eerily real.
My Studio Courier Pigeon team and I came up with the initial idea of OSHA Not Included, and worked together over a 3 month period to bring it to life. This is one of my more unique projects in that my main focus was project management, system architecture, and fostering team collaboration.
Objectives
- Complete a multi-level game within a single-screen (no camera movement).
- Collaborate with team members to guarantee code is well architected, implemented, and tested.
- Ensure the game is visually appealing and follows best UX practices to faciliate an engaging and memorable experience.
Problems Faced and Overcoming Them
As project lead, it was my responsibility to keep scope creep to a minimum even though our team had a neverending amount of good ideas. We were on a very tight deadline, and had to define our requirements fast and clearly. I went into this project assuming it could derail very quickly, and planned sprints weeks in advance to keep organized as much as possible. I also kept the team on track by gathering time estimates for each task. This way when someone had an idea for an unplanned feature, I was able to consider it based on each sprint’s status. I definitely tried to keep an under-promise, over-deliver mindset though it was not easy!
